I chose a stamp inspired by a recent day trip with my family. We have had so much rainfall lately that the TVA decided that they needed to release water out of Fontana Dam. We have been camping there for years and I have never seen the water released through the spillway. This picture was taken from the top of the dam. I am truly blessed to live in such a beautiful place.<br />

<br />
How did this inspire my card? During our drive from the top of the dam to the bottom we stopped at the local ice cream shop and enjoyed a very sweet treat. I was also badly beaten in a game of checkers by the little guy but I try not to dwell on that.<br />
<br />
I colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and backed it with green vellum paper punched with Martha Stewart's Loops. The designer paper is DCWV Sweet Shoppe stack. Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!<br />

I am still learning how to blend and get the right color combination. I used a digital stamp from <a href="http://www.pollycraft.co.uk/" target="_blank">Pollycraft</a> called "Summer Things - Cool Cat." I am entering this in <a href="http://abcchallenges.blogspot.com/2013/07/abc35-anything-goes.html" target="_blank">ABC35 "Anything Goes" Challenge</a>.<br />

I wanted to share with each of them how much they are appreciated so I made crafty gifts. I am extremely thankful for Pinterest as I found almost all of my ideas there.<br />
<br />
<u>Gift #1: Marvelous & Magnificent Teacher</u><br />
I found the glass cruets at Joanns in the wedding section. I used Inkscape to create the label which I have shared <a href="https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2jr-aJ3vP5icFhyN3pyR1pFRVE/edit?usp=sharing" target="_blank">here</a> and imported it into Silhouette Designer software to complete a print and cut.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1WmAGnImjtig9S77oNjCTKB-Gw2x8VcdOBVMQ1yMrL_3ygAnqZ2ovDy4GL8tOhZGdb4piNuP60Nuz4te82JlW1q7dS9tzjHxo5iodKcnKRc1rbVPC2ZXLjuw3oDLFoWpuYyeMI9rlrA/s1600/DSC_0089.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="182" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1WmAGnImjtig9S77oNjCTKB-Gw2x8VcdOBVMQ1yMrL_3ygAnqZ2ovDy4GL8tOhZGdb4piNuP60Nuz4te82JlW1q7dS9tzjHxo5iodKcnKRc1rbVPC2ZXLjuw3oDLFoWpuYyeMI9rlrA/s320/DSC_0089.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUalSw2tN9tSAqdGLu_1E9fzfZXSDcr38qhHJX5K6eYF7zHD7hOeGVPvl9vveZDck3jj95_O7LLin-KR9jBbVlfDJQBIT7a8PdCEl-L0OmyDql7q4ML7-u59wt1b2aDBvwRtjhKJ3e3Q/s1600/DSC_0091.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUalSw2tN9tSAqdGLu_1E9fzfZXSDcr38qhHJX5K6eYF7zHD7hOeGVPvl9vveZDck3jj95_O7LLin-KR9jBbVlfDJQBIT7a8PdCEl-L0OmyDql7q4ML7-u59wt1b2aDBvwRtjhKJ3e3Q/s320/DSC_0091.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Gift #2: Thank You Pillow Box<br />
The pillow box is from Lettering Delights and was the perfect size for a 100 Grand. I used Make the Cut to cut them all and tied baker's twine around the flap. The little buttons are from Tuesday Morning where I purchased them at a going out of business sale.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqsnCjDYmm1EJMOCWiOnjqAm-5-dyohsiax_NEmebPMdW9YS5sUaJTJ8nKiwruoXPlEOSBG3FTn9wuAzFmO9UOzIVE6-eyIXUFPswMFhWEzE_pe-p6edoTTvoaYj1SBkEP3K7J3UEKag/s1600/DSC_0092.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="230" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqsnCjDYmm1EJMOCWiOnjqAm-5-dyohsiax_NEmebPMdW9YS5sUaJTJ8nKiwruoXPlEOSBG3FTn9wuAzFmO9UOzIVE6-eyIXUFPswMFhWEzE_pe-p6edoTTvoaYj1SBkEP3K7J3UEKag/s320/DSC_0092.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidLGmY4ygy3BWRBr1FCNwPiUjS676NRlJ3sUm-BhyvSxj0OegSkWolZzvgpwlTfCb0QYHmw_ulfwdMulaDKk35K548Jn24CUkzKfUrCsAY7HPKAI80jXTC5Z3ffANCwaLLHVhbCrZIbA/s1600/DSC_0094.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="138" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidLGmY4ygy3BWRBr1FCNwPiUjS676NRlJ3sUm-BhyvSxj0OegSkWolZzvgpwlTfCb0QYHmw_ulfwdMulaDKk35K548Jn24CUkzKfUrCsAY7HPKAI80jXTC5Z3ffANCwaLLHVhbCrZIbA/s320/DSC_0094.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Gift #3: Thanks for the 'Extra' work<br />
These were made specifically for the Math Leadership Team. We meet once a month and the teachers are always taking on extra responsibilities. They are a wonderful team to work with and our teachers in the county benefit greatly from their leadership.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1z0XjPWUvfXYJiiJF2CG8QJ338Zy2OjhJ_LFPQsOcTPOA-FT9E8-vkehHDRV5LWTlqoYPP5Q61BQPOpkeSnunwX86UfgeN4U2pjkaamD8c01kaF4dcvXW460C-Onm26TdRRrgb3ZX4Q/s1600/DSC_0096.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1z0XjPWUvfXYJiiJF2CG8QJ338Zy2OjhJ_LFPQsOcTPOA-FT9E8-vkehHDRV5LWTlqoYPP5Q61BQPOpkeSnunwX86UfgeN4U2pjkaamD8c01kaF4dcvXW460C-Onm26TdRRrgb3ZX4Q/s320/DSC_0096.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Gift #4: Thank you with Sharpies<br />
I have been saving Crystal Light plastic canisters without any idea what I would do with them. Then I found this <a href="http://www.designwashrinserepeat.com/2012/05/freebie-teacher-appreciation.html" target="_blank">site</a> where there was the idea and a free printable tag. I simply printed the tag and cut it out using scissors. Yep, no fancy cutting machine for this one. Just simple scissors and my xyron machine. This was the gift specifically for my son's teacher.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHI0Q9h4_6FEwm-tqvgZxL6lSyOzgwsLkiDE6nl8CgNKZutovIphvyAu6XvMwqgoVSIocvJqLeGxLLnA6qWOuSX-DK9Rn8llOXL2T8sxELM1rKM3dphW9oQglO4bJ95yVld86s6yp8ZA/s1600/DSC_0097.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHI0Q9h4_6FEwm-tqvgZxL6lSyOzgwsLkiDE6nl8CgNKZutovIphvyAu6XvMwqgoVSIocvJqLeGxLLnA6qWOuSX-DK9Rn8llOXL2T8sxELM1rKM3dphW9oQglO4bJ95yVld86s6yp8ZA/s320/DSC_0097.JPG" width="214" /></a></div>
<br />
Gift #5 Lemonade<br />
These were simple to make. I cut the strips at 2.5" wide and 10" long and scored it at 3" and 7.5". I used a Martha Stewart punch to cut the circle and an EK Success punch for the border.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiseMrGVc5vlRxXJqwivE8qi_YkCXne2lt4B_W3jbTdz4Cz6317qb54znFetD0bOxeZCsQafQ5IiUBIk7gf9L7iTAdXSoYQxmoxX5DInhhffdcvNIwWxSeWsXdw10a-bsOeylvq58Mc5A/s1600/DSC_0099.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiseMrGVc5vlRxXJqwivE8qi_YkCXne2lt4B_W3jbTdz4Cz6317qb54znFetD0bOxeZCsQafQ5IiUBIk7gf9L7iTAdXSoYQxmoxX5DInhhffdcvNIwWxSeWsXdw10a-bsOeylvq58Mc5A/s320/DSC_0099.JPG" width="214" /></a></div>
<br />
Gift #6 M&M packs<br />
After making gift #1 I had an entire bag of m&ms left. I made these treat bags and adorned the tag with washi tape and a small button.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWmiu0SeISlzInf1i5xL8TlyVPNSJoivtSnJO7IJWT0SMV6fn-zxAu1D1HqxCDxjn6HxltT6sTz4F_BPdBWVKRXIO5mIEJn4hVxtE865-otEUjseMbAZLZnQQEHmsd2da5osLrrR2Oyg/s1600/DSC_0103.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWmiu0SeISlzInf1i5xL8TlyVPNSJoivtSnJO7IJWT0SMV6fn-zxAu1D1HqxCDxjn6HxltT6sTz4F_BPdBWVKRXIO5mIEJn4hVxtE865-otEUjseMbAZLZnQQEHmsd2da5osLrrR2Oyg/s320/DSC_0103.JPG" width="214" /></a></div>
<br />
I really enjoyed handing out the treats each day and letting the teachers know they are appreciated. Hope this has inspired you to send a little treat. Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!<br />

Two of my colleagues have had babies in the past month (one with twins) and our pastor just became a grandpa. So I have been busy making baby cards. I didn't snap a picture of the first two so I can only share one today.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKEUpDfjlIKPXPsz4q5mlZgt1fK2dyYWZLgo3otLGOQyxFgdntUTOzlW0ptpqhJE1LIHOxRkj9rFVE4Y6LvLKbtglTyF4DQY9yhdQQprYMSr4yt413bGEkPv4HwgHbcNjG4qNoyE3UOw/s1600/100_2488.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKEUpDfjlIKPXPsz4q5mlZgt1fK2dyYWZLgo3otLGOQyxFgdntUTOzlW0ptpqhJE1LIHOxRkj9rFVE4Y6LvLKbtglTyF4DQY9yhdQQprYMSr4yt413bGEkPv4HwgHbcNjG4qNoyE3UOw/s320/100_2488.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I saw a picture on Pinterest of a cute baby bib card but when I went to find a cut file for it I was out of luck. I visited all of my favorites (Lettering Delights, SVG Cuts, The Cutting Files, Silhouette Store, and the MTC Gallery) and was unable to find the bib I was looking for. I searched for an image that I could pixel trace and still no luck. Finally I had to resort to making my own.<br />
<br />
Since I made my own I would like to share the file.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH1g-8zgKRuU_pOyGAGpCjFugHWwUuaMgtuMHdFF19rLb9L1X4N0U1b30gLSWLMcNd1W1usVdBe1Q9UZdyIQa3udiakDOIE1eCObtlj0Mzg5Lfti3NLeL5sxasyImyi8llLYSKZBrC8Q/s1600/baby+bib.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="270" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH1g-8zgKRuU_pOyGAGpCjFugHWwUuaMgtuMHdFF19rLb9L1X4N0U1b30gLSWLMcNd1W1usVdBe1Q9UZdyIQa3udiakDOIE1eCObtlj0Mzg5Lfti3NLeL5sxasyImyi8llLYSKZBrC8Q/s320/baby+bib.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Now, I've never shared a file before so if you are unable to download please leave me a note and I will work on it some more. I have chosen to use Google Drive to do this. To download just click on the format you would like <a href="https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2jr-aJ3vP5iS2F1SU04TGl6ZkU/edit" target="_blank">MTC format</a> or <a href="https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2jr-aJ3vP5iTG5sWlJvdnlkUUU/edit" target="_blank">SVG format</a>.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and if you use the file I would love to see what you do with it. Leave me a note and a link and I'll come visit.<br />
<br />
Have a blessed day!<br />

Happy New Year. Yeah.... I know <i>{sigh}</i>... I haven't posted anything since my October Halloween treats. I wonder if I even have anyone who looks at my crafty ramblings anymore. I promise have made some treats since then. There were candy bar treat boxes for Thanksgiving and Fisher and I made some turkeys out of trail mix and pipe cleaners. For Christmas I made a variety of treats. I have over 40 teachers that I work with and I had each of them a little crafty gift. I even have pictures of some of the creations. But now that the holidays are over I'm not sure sharing them at this point would be proper blog etiquette. Maybe I'll write them and schedule them for next year <i>{can you schedule posts that far away????}</i> or maybe I'll just pin them on Pinterest.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyway, I welcome anyone who takes a glimpse at what I've worked on tonight. It's been relaxing and a much needed activity. <i>{Today has brought me very sad news and crafting is real therapy for me.}</i> I saw these "ready to bake" sugar cookies at the grocery store on sell for $0.99 for 2 dozen. I snatched up three boxes with this New Year's treat in mind.</div>

I created a simple print and cut using the Silhouette Designer Software (but you could easily do it without designer.) Thanks to a quick Google search I found an easy tutorial <a href="http://expressionsvinylblog.com/text-on-a-path-ie-how-to-curve-your-text-and-offset/" target="_blank">here</a> on how to get my words to wrap.<br />

I even have enough cookies left over to send to Fisher's class tomorrow. Isn't the snowman cute?<br />

I really enjoy making treats for others. It is great to surprise someone with a "thinking of you" gift. Well, I suppose that is enough for tonight. Have a blessed day!<div style="padding-left: 10px;" width="400">

October has been a very busy month and last week was the busiest. I started with staff development for all of the high school math teachers in my county on Monday. A PLC session for Course 1 teachers on Tuesday. Then I traveled to the state Math Leadership Conference on Wednesday, followed by the state math conference on Thursday & Friday (of which I had a part in planning). I also presented two sessions. Saturday I coordinated the Fall Festival at the church consisting of a Trunk or Treat, hot dog supper, hayride and bonfire. On top of all that I started getting sick. Spent the entire day in bed on Sunday and went to the doctor today.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Feeling much better, I finished the classroom treats for my son's classroom. I found this idea on Pinterest and my son thought it was hilarious. Using a large container of cheese puffs, we filled small snack bags. (We also discovered that our little dog loves cheese puffs.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I used <a href="http://www.letteringdelights.com/alphabet:frank%27s_friends-8308.html" target="_blank">Frank's Friends</a> Alpha from Lettering Delights for the pumpkin and designed the entire card in Inkscape. I imported into Silhouette Studio, enclosed with a rectangle, filled the page, and did a print and cut.<br />

<br />
I couldn't resist the second project. (Again, I pinned it on Pinterest.) I purchased mandarin oranges in individual containers and used a Sharpie to draw faces.<br />

That's all the projects I have for today. I have a few planned tomorrow for my colleagues. Thanks for dropping by and have a blessed day!<br />

One of the teachers I work with is a volleyball coach. This Saturday, her team is having a fundraiser called <i>Dig for a Cure</i>. Last week I ordered six pink water bottles for $1.50 each from WOOT.com. I wasn't sure at the time what I was going to do with them but I knew I could use them for something. (Oh, this could get very bad if I do this too often.) Fortunately, they aren't sticking around for too long. I used MTCs pixel trace of a ribbon I found by searching Google Images. I cut the ribbon and the words out of vinyl and put them onto the bottles. The plan is to put a t-shirt inside and sell them this weekend as part of the fundraiser. </div>

My mother-in-law's birthday was yesterday and I actually had some free time to craft. My father-in-law had asked me to create a card for him to give to her and of course I had to make one from us. This first card is the one I made for my father-in-law to give to her. The "little old" is the use of the phrase "live, laugh, love." It's one of my favorite phrases to use because I find it suitable for a variety of situations. The "little new" is to challenge myself to use MTC to weld the words together instead of using my stamp. The flowers are also a new purchase from the local store.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8kTWBceg_QMEpv2qJb4R7DZxhA04A5t1CJMFeNs8fyRIcEZtZrzvq4-XXX2ku9kdSFROESF-78n_fhV5ZGZPbaCFB-U20BV9tB0PkF2WXxT-Idva60ChcCKuH0Sy66IcBuFZSQqROYg/s1600/100_2439.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8kTWBceg_QMEpv2qJb4R7DZxhA04A5t1CJMFeNs8fyRIcEZtZrzvq4-XXX2ku9kdSFROESF-78n_fhV5ZGZPbaCFB-U20BV9tB0PkF2WXxT-Idva60ChcCKuH0Sy66IcBuFZSQqROYg/s320/100_2439.JPG" width="248" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF0Y_pMkxbLQPA61yLeMTq5Nz0GOpkYLz4AdFhnh8Ki0Gz9oYU-AbcOVdF_H6vXYJmptyvukojcvFZLxnMOwIjbdKYsj2oUh4f6MPtIFn4juiyslsYfoyFyWgDJSqtDblSIHUIEIeZHw/s1600/100_2440.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="155" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF0Y_pMkxbLQPA61yLeMTq5Nz0GOpkYLz4AdFhnh8Ki0Gz9oYU-AbcOVdF_H6vXYJmptyvukojcvFZLxnMOwIjbdKYsj2oUh4f6MPtIFn4juiyslsYfoyFyWgDJSqtDblSIHUIEIeZHw/s200/100_2440.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
This second card is the one from us. The "little old" is the flower stamp which I have had for years and is well used. The "little new" is the sewing. I do not sew but love the look on cards. I found a simple crafters sewing machine for $9 and thought I would try it out. I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color which is still a technique I want to get better at.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to look.<br />

I was inspired by Jin Yong's post on <a href="http://underacherrytree.blogspot.com/2012/09/make-your-own-simple-shape-in-7-steps.html" target="_blank">Simple Shapes</a> at Under A Cherry Tree.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZiG3KUfHKtkZr9NqeENFoKtYNq1T3jQRL4DdYepdM7b9EDP55LslxKN-hHB03BK6aYNYtSxY2krdWl3jrSgfdI0zTqx3NfQELg7uH5xL3_S5WP5odZJYz2l9fUeb96rZKfMz5gpz2gw/s1600/100_2437.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZiG3KUfHKtkZr9NqeENFoKtYNq1T3jQRL4DdYepdM7b9EDP55LslxKN-hHB03BK6aYNYtSxY2krdWl3jrSgfdI0zTqx3NfQELg7uH5xL3_S5WP5odZJYz2l9fUeb96rZKfMz5gpz2gw/s320/100_2437.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The entire project was done with MTC and cut with my Silhouette Cameo. I started with a 3" and a 2.5" square, stacked them, and did a Boolean Join. Next, I copied and pasted (in place) three other squares. I overlapped them slightly and welded them together. The words are Script MT Bold font with the letters welded together. I placed the words just touching the frame and did another weld. The butterfly is from LDs <a href="http://www.letteringdelights.com/searchprod.php?search=cloud+nine" target="_blank"> Cloud Nine</a> set. I created a shadow with blackout and was finished within a few minutes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On the inside I printed "... and the greatest of these is love." to complete the verse from 1 Corinthians 13. The bling was put on with my irock tool.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I know it has been awhile since I posted so I don't know if anyone out there even reads these posts; but if you do, thanks for letting me share. If you are so inclined please pray for my SIL. This was sudden and she needs to feel God's strength to help her through.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Have a blessed day!<br />

He got the Excellence in Reading & Math yesterday at the end of the year awards ceremony. He was so excited about finishing Kindergarten and of course starting summer vacation. I am in awe of how well he is reading. I can teach high school students math but am amazed at how elementary teachers teach students how to read.<br />
<br />
To show my gratitude I made his teachers and the ladies in the office some end of the year treats. For the ladies in the office I put together this apple from the <a href="http://www.svgattic.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=92_95&products_id=222" target="_blank">Fall Harvest Favor Box</a> from SVG Attic and placed two small caramel brownies inside. (Unfortunately I didn't take the best pics so it is difficult to see that they are apples.)<br />

For his teachers, I made these cute <a href="http://www.mygrafico.com/freebies/3d-flip-flop-box/prod_5321.html" target="_blank">flip flop boxes</a> from My Graphico. They were easy to assemble. I placed two caramel brownies in each of these too.<br />

Happy Memorial Day! I am thankful for the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for this country. May they always be remembered.</div>

<span style="text-align: center;">Now the card I would like to share. I have been working on this for a few days. I want to get better at coloring with my Spectrum Noir Markers so I have colored this little girl with a watermelon from </span><a href="http://www.kristidailey.com/Watermelon-Girl--Digi-Stamp-Black-White-Graphics-_p_275.html" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Kristie Daily</a><span style="text-align: center;"> multiple times. </span></div>

I wanted to make her an extra special card. I decided to use Patricia Zapata's <a href="http://www.letteringdelights.com/bundle:intricate_gift_box_collection-10399.html" target="_blank">Ring Box</a> Cut It from Lettering Delights. I used my Silhouette Cameo and Make the Cut. The top of the box is backed with a piece of colored vellum.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCVgpjP0noy-ZxcsvIfIK5_s-r7GwtkqstvUMtC37CiK2VLj7g3POdD_zlXKEUz-kuEnxzHacemhxYMUsx9dbbZqvFUy-EvTJ-b5EzPxSUmPD_sTKilRffwz15BuQaGbazXfhpf8DukQ/s1600/100_2021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="304" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCVgpjP0noy-ZxcsvIfIK5_s-r7GwtkqstvUMtC37CiK2VLj7g3POdD_zlXKEUz-kuEnxzHacemhxYMUsx9dbbZqvFUy-EvTJ-b5EzPxSUmPD_sTKilRffwz15BuQaGbazXfhpf8DukQ/s320/100_2021.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The lace is from the $1 bin at AC Moores and was wrapped around the edge. White self-adhesive pearls were used at each intersection of the rings. I liked how both added a little elegant look and went with the theme of a wedding card.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDi1TADn5pWPSwJiquVZ-_hQ8XmITynNKj02HZrYh24Xfi9te5nijHmBQIEdWR07Z-TNhZ6dKoDP22dE-kEmhmdvkEbFbPpTSaVttWnXM0s26xB426zNyVDeK_efSlPG78yX8OH-CMTg/s1600/100_2022.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDi1TADn5pWPSwJiquVZ-_hQ8XmITynNKj02HZrYh24Xfi9te5nijHmBQIEdWR07Z-TNhZ6dKoDP22dE-kEmhmdvkEbFbPpTSaVttWnXM0s26xB426zNyVDeK_efSlPG78yX8OH-CMTg/s320/100_2022.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
For the card, I used an image from the internet of a bride & groom holding hands. Pixel trace with MTC made cutting the image out very easy. The corner I found in the MTC gallery. The cardstock is a metallic blue that has a shimmer to it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivFbE_GKZN7G5kwHur_wWEstGZ7jHjLsY5D6J40u5S0VrSyI3M98sbtT-mGf_FjBwNgA-X2nv6Mqqc-6nH1v2Do8gJlciduVnpG5KijvXyqNX5M_utucLlSFv7h_1Sd-Evd4dImZxN_w/s1600/100_2023.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivFbE_GKZN7G5kwHur_wWEstGZ7jHjLsY5D6J40u5S0VrSyI3M98sbtT-mGf_FjBwNgA-X2nv6Mqqc-6nH1v2Do8gJlciduVnpG5KijvXyqNX5M_utucLlSFv7h_1Sd-Evd4dImZxN_w/s320/100_2023.JPG" width="282" /></a></div>
I used the embossing folder Butterfly Kisses from Craft Concepts on a piece of white vellum. I colored the back of the butterflies with my Spectrum Noir TB4 marker.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizVBZGD3Ee_TTofNuwR7knkpwaXAipmY3v_Run8oFUH0Tx22tIaOxALSQvl8EWI5UjnUtKZr84gX6Y8iOiZULeOcinjFfp33i9_UYzzJvxcYjS22X06hUnlHRdShgjDW5mdmzzcJMN_Q/s1600/100_2024.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizVBZGD3Ee_TTofNuwR7knkpwaXAipmY3v_Run8oFUH0Tx22tIaOxALSQvl8EWI5UjnUtKZr84gX6Y8iOiZULeOcinjFfp33i9_UYzzJvxcYjS22X06hUnlHRdShgjDW5mdmzzcJMN_Q/s320/100_2024.JPG" width="289" /></a></div>
Finally the box was a little too deep for a single card so I cut a piece of white cardstock an inch larger in both dimensions, folded it an inch on each side, trimmed the corner pieces, and put it in the box. This lifted the card to the top. The ribbon is threaded through small slits I made in the bottom of the box and tied on top.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I am entering this in Ashley's <a href="http://welchcreations.blogspot.com/2012/05/welch-creations-challenge-7.html" target="_blank">Welch Creations Challenge #7</a>, the <a href="http://abcdtchallenge.blogspot.com/2012/05/graduation-or-wedding-card-challenge.html" target="_blank">ABC DT Challenge</a> "Graduation or Wedding" card, and the <a href="http://www.cardztv.blogspot.com/2012/05/ctv-design-team-challenge-109-say-i-do.html" target="_blank">Cardz TV Challenge #109</a> "Say I Do"<br />

By the way, the wedding was beautiful. Have a blessed day!<br />

Yesterday I had some time to make a get well card for a little boy who had surgery. I followed the <a href="http://mojomonday.blogspot.ca/2012/05/mojo-monday-242.html" target="_blank">Mojo Monday Sketch 242</a>. I used an image from <a href="http://www.letteringdelights.com/" target="_blank">LD</a>'s Fast Car graphic set. The lettering was done with Silhouette Studio. I'm not real happy with the button. I thought I could put a trophy but didn't find what I was looking for. Fisher and I included a Hot Wheels coloring book, crayons, and a Hot Wheel for him to enjoy while he is recovering.<br />

Thanks for the visit.<br />

In January I took a position as an instructional high school math coach. My desire is to assist teachers in their professional development. I have been asked several times if I like it better than teaching. It's like asking if I like the beach or the mountains. They are both beautiful and wonderful in their own way. The difference between the jobs has been that I had close to 14 years of teaching. I understood my job and what I was expected to do on a daily basis. Now, I am learning about my new job and not always sure what is expected or how to do it. I'm enjoying the challenge and know that I have more to learn.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Why am I sharing about my new job? This past month I planned and implemented a Lesson Study. This gave the opportunity for a group of teachers to come together and plan a lesson. Afterwards, one teacher taught the lesson while the others observered and collected data. We then debriefed the lesson and made adjustments. It was successful and there are plans to continue this practice next year.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I wanted to make a card for the teacher who opened up her classroom and taught the lesson. She did an awesome job! I chose to use a sketch from <a href="http://kathyswafflesketchfile.blogspot.com/2012/05/may-sketch-twice-around-blovk.html" target="_blank">Kathy's Waffle Sketch</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's my take on the sketch. I used My <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=666" target="_blank">Favorite Things Pure Innocence You Make the Grade</a> stamp. I wanted a soft look to the girl so I used colored pencils. The papers are from DCWV Cafe Mediterranean. I really liked the orange. The flowers are Prima and teh apple is a button from my stash.<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: EN-US;"></span></div>

I altered a giant clothespin as a gift for the members of the math leadership team in my county. This year they have worked hard to provide professional development and leadership for our county. Let's get started!<br />
<br />
The materials I used are: patterned paper, giant clothespin (found at Michael's for $1), foam brush, x-acto knife, Mod Podge, brayer, bone folder, and nail file (not shown).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7z3k_J_2Gl1tMX57L1FDnL4Tp0YLYQxyGYXt3rJG4k1o7llE9omjIRepm0iVH5hjU3XjtB1FW9MjFYn36o6zD1D8KhEdoxPZChMxFPpZXHLNdGi9aNqIsryzpZCy_fWTjgItF2t7LBA/s1600/100_1997.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="290" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7z3k_J_2Gl1tMX57L1FDnL4Tp0YLYQxyGYXt3rJG4k1o7llE9omjIRepm0iVH5hjU3XjtB1FW9MjFYn36o6zD1D8KhEdoxPZChMxFPpZXHLNdGi9aNqIsryzpZCy_fWTjgItF2t7LBA/s400/100_1997.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Start by cutting a rectangle large enough to cover the face of the clothespin. I placed the clothespin on the paper, traced, and cut it out. Don't worry if it is cut too big. We will trim it later. Using the bone folder, I made a crease in the paper to show where it needed to be cut to divide the paper into the upper and lower portion of the clothespin. <em>(Wow, my bone folder looks dingy.)</em></div>

</div>
</a><br />
I just used a pair of scissors to cut the paper. You can see in the picture below how it divides the paper into the two portions.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3TP74fo8prEnni89Ugfgr3YLXomtMpdR3BbZcFHs7zSOK4zkI7Bi9HpKrsJEwDCcyMe_gBaq1pJBKuI41QiwAQ3EqV32yqbhQ6fxJkcXGBWDYhM1BTzbgMee4rNS74-a1wvPiZtO-yw/s1600/100_1999.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3TP74fo8prEnni89Ugfgr3YLXomtMpdR3BbZcFHs7zSOK4zkI7Bi9HpKrsJEwDCcyMe_gBaq1pJBKuI41QiwAQ3EqV32yqbhQ6fxJkcXGBWDYhM1BTzbgMee4rNS74-a1wvPiZtO-yw/s320/100_1999.JPG" width="249" /></a></div>
Next, paint a thin layer of the Mod Podge to the face of the clothespin using the foam brush.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5qALGSn-SvwQQ-aghQ2LDET3yttoULgEAVbRYN2F-iZE1lM4dxKvLQ3MhEZqH3GGzTR0CQoqom2-yWZBGzKNc09MLyoWC1enemfkVUChl9WVjoVPgT6Do8x-SCQA8EuGCOkZCkWU9bg/s1600/100_2001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="273" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5qALGSn-SvwQQ-aghQ2LDET3yttoULgEAVbRYN2F-iZE1lM4dxKvLQ3MhEZqH3GGzTR0CQoqom2-yWZBGzKNc09MLyoWC1enemfkVUChl9WVjoVPgT6Do8x-SCQA8EuGCOkZCkWU9bg/s320/100_2001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Place the pieces of paper on the face and then use the brayer to get rid of any bubbles. <em>(Be careful when applying pressure to the clothespin or it may go flying across the room.)</em><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP5PXL8aWiWRymlWFVydbzUb8TtOZVdjs6Z9aabr5SggM9NeU96kKehD98jsI0PlS8KKWgn-CywMGfmF3cLz6RASBHUg3uNd60LoRyA5JZSnF8aNjXPohPbaVqc5OtdCQ0QGM3K8vj9g/s1600/100_2002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="251" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP5PXL8aWiWRymlWFVydbzUb8TtOZVdjs6Z9aabr5SggM9NeU96kKehD98jsI0PlS8KKWgn-CywMGfmF3cLz6RASBHUg3uNd60LoRyA5JZSnF8aNjXPohPbaVqc5OtdCQ0QGM3K8vj9g/s320/100_2002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
After the Mod Podge has had time to dry trim the excess paper using the x-acto knife. (<em>I realized when editing the pictures that I did not stay consistent with which clothespin I was using as a model. Thus, you now see the green one instead of the blue.)</em><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO4tGKpO8-THOwpDh61IuEHpiaf3gglB8KevW1FX_VtHq3iqTP9n51YJ9tHzmFN9OXLE6s8kIg4YB-9NAx3oz3njYgHDI9P9KS-rAygUvoEGITC_3AwVF6w5MU4w3wmIpvAc53wnojaw/s1600/100_2003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="301" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO4tGKpO8-THOwpDh61IuEHpiaf3gglB8KevW1FX_VtHq3iqTP9n51YJ9tHzmFN9OXLE6s8kIg4YB-9NAx3oz3njYgHDI9P9KS-rAygUvoEGITC_3AwVF6w5MU4w3wmIpvAc53wnojaw/s320/100_2003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Use a nail file (or fine sand paper would) to file the edges. This made a big difference in the final project. It created a smoother transition from the paper to the painted wood. (<em>Do you like the file? Another $1 find at Michael's.)</em><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz5kX297vEyT3_CpJ15X2FNM2lGSCy0RVy8x7sVoQOhDzGVjsHaB3fliT9mL0qW5yxk90VnF91wKxTSrrcZqCGHUrHfD4U56-C2vBaGjxpUCcrbBA1n7BOay4aVEi9ftIy5zQD_Wb9sg/s1600/100_2004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="219" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz5kX297vEyT3_CpJ15X2FNM2lGSCy0RVy8x7sVoQOhDzGVjsHaB3fliT9mL0qW5yxk90VnF91wKxTSrrcZqCGHUrHfD4U56-C2vBaGjxpUCcrbBA1n7BOay4aVEi9ftIy5zQD_Wb9sg/s320/100_2004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Apply a layer of Mod Podge to the top to seal the paper. This should prevent fading and possible water damage. You can do 2 or 3 layers if you wanted. <em>(Again, I have snapped a picture of a different pattern.)</em><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSeyeUcY81X0mwLhulpzAN2QVFyVkLNgv8jvHdPEn9oFIHx20zUTry_FIiiNktNz-gD451LKJUT1eciNOtcvySVnhoqhx2ZEe4_ePy558ytETNdqxsjkVpGbDlISdMrsBnnrcCgYpcXw/s1600/100_2005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="257" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSeyeUcY81X0mwLhulpzAN2QVFyVkLNgv8jvHdPEn9oFIHx20zUTry_FIiiNktNz-gD451LKJUT1eciNOtcvySVnhoqhx2ZEe4_ePy558ytETNdqxsjkVpGbDlISdMrsBnnrcCgYpcXw/s320/100_2005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Here are all of the different patterns and clothespins. I used two paper companies: DCWV Linen Closet Stack & All Dressed Up Stack; My Mind's Eye Ooh La La Stack, Fine and Dandy Stack, and All Boy Stack. There are 14 total clothespins.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

When I originally purchased the clothespins I thought they would be great for holding pictures or notes so I made a quick note to include. The apple is from Lettering Delights It Feels Like Autumn. It has a magnet on the back so the teachers can remove it and keep it. The note card was designed in the Silhouette Studio and cut out with the Cameo. I used an EK Success puch for the paper edge and a Studio G stamp for the thanks!<br />

Here are the final products. I really had fun making these and they were pretty easy to do. I'll give them out tomorrow at our monthly meeting. <br />

The flower is from the <a href="http://www.letteringdelights.com/searchprod.php?search=mulberry+lane+too" target="_blank">Mulberry Lane Too</a> svg from Lettering Delights. I brought it into the Silhouette Design software, traced several times for the different layers, and then cut them out.<br />

I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the flower with Swiss Dots folder. For the stem and leaves I simple used an embossing tool to create the vines.<br />

I had been talking about how much easier it would be to do print and cut projects. I had been able to do it with my Cricut but it was not an easy process. He listened and totally surprised me. <br />
<br />
Here is my first project using my new tools. I found these cute little buckets in the $1 bin at Walmart so I snatched up 5 of them for Fisher's teachers and ladies at school. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlSy-Kc7OJKDJ-h4k_HX9LTiCF1mlqjTEX3nmAd9CSYfIz3VnGGjeMSAwRP6S5IHr08lhKMvCiKVBv_4g8JXmB2eKmEsNULbZUG2bB_EnWz6HyfGFswyN_UubIYJaaJszjYuKsBmz-KA/s1600/100_1989.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlSy-Kc7OJKDJ-h4k_HX9LTiCF1mlqjTEX3nmAd9CSYfIz3VnGGjeMSAwRP6S5IHr08lhKMvCiKVBv_4g8JXmB2eKmEsNULbZUG2bB_EnWz6HyfGFswyN_UubIYJaaJszjYuKsBmz-KA/s320/100_1989.JPG" width="233" /></a></div>
Although I didn't do anything to the bucket (they came with the sticker on the front) I did create several little goodies to fill it up.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq-XOi7czu6qw0qdKrB8kQ22gRGXb770kONiBcIt5bHoIBk2L_15JYu3FgY434bGeDbSkwa_u6XqgZJ8R8obpjVq3pKiuR9iy0xQ8RC4mzr0QmZ6zMN1dns3VWouP94jxE8uhq_ZHzfQ/s1600/100_1984.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq-XOi7czu6qw0qdKrB8kQ22gRGXb770kONiBcIt5bHoIBk2L_15JYu3FgY434bGeDbSkwa_u6XqgZJ8R8obpjVq3pKiuR9iy0xQ8RC4mzr0QmZ6zMN1dns3VWouP94jxE8uhq_ZHzfQ/s320/100_1984.JPG" width="281" /></a></div>
These are cranberry walnut chocolate granola clusters. The label was created with the Lettering Delights <a href="http://www.letteringdelights.com/searchprod.php?search=Easter+Beasties">Easter Beasties</a>. I used a 3"x 2.5" rectangle and designed the image in the bottom half. The Silhouette Cameo smoothly cut out the rectangle which I then folded in half and stapled to the bag.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhan0bbXEi6zwAYna-YExz27CVn3ws_B0XsAqSr1LsoihBydy8cA4NdgJUdFdt0DI2PdKFAqbnYEpTbvpYa_CH_JeLStaTCL4HUT9f8QSj0j58XlvxVWm3jCdaTNKWicczet0akycj3uA/s1600/100_1985.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="203" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhan0bbXEi6zwAYna-YExz27CVn3ws_B0XsAqSr1LsoihBydy8cA4NdgJUdFdt0DI2PdKFAqbnYEpTbvpYa_CH_JeLStaTCL4HUT9f8QSj0j58XlvxVWm3jCdaTNKWicczet0akycj3uA/s320/100_1985.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
These jelly bean bags were made the same way using Easter Beasties as well. Fisher picked out the saying "You Crack Me Up" which was one of the graphics provided in the set.<br />

For the cards I used the chick from the Animal Buddies set from Lettering Delights. The scallop was cut from a nestability and the frame was embossed using the Cuttlebug. The stamps are Studio G Easter set.<br />

I purchased chocolate bunnies and covered the boxes. Again the quote is from LD's Easter Beasties. The paper is from DCWV <em>The Sweet Stack</em>. <br />

I decided to join in by creating this hot air balloon card for my sweet cousin.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHrY3erlduQdRGreH5UHqMLHE6qzzi_lS56NmUZc38v_77ywPBrCDhnaHblcZ1PVtIsqvVMzM7-TcAcQ9rIBanj4eoPro87c82vaEpb7FWsrU0S2Szwr4N0rD-ZRy4gi67oGaVP6hg0A/s1600/100_1971.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHrY3erlduQdRGreH5UHqMLHE6qzzi_lS56NmUZc38v_77ywPBrCDhnaHblcZ1PVtIsqvVMzM7-TcAcQ9rIBanj4eoPro87c82vaEpb7FWsrU0S2Szwr4N0rD-ZRy4gi67oGaVP6hg0A/s320/100_1971.JPG" width="279" /></a></div>
The balloon is from LD <a href="http://www.letteringdelights.com/searchprod.php?search=balloon+craze">Balloon Craze</a>. I used Make-the-Cut to import the file straight from my LD library. For the card base a made a shadow layer with blackout slightly larger than the balloon itself. I copied the image, reflected it vertically, then welded the two shadows at the top.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The pattern paper is from DCWV Nana's Kids Stack. I used stickles to accent the ribbon and small gems for a little bling. I embossed the basket using the Diamonds in the Rough folder and popped it using foam pop dots.<br />

One night we unwrapped a bunch of old crayons from the "crayon box" <em>(If you have kids you know that box I'm referring to. It makes me wonder if anyone has actually completely used up a crayon?)</em> Anyway, we broke the crayons and put the pieces into mini silicone heart cupcake cups. We baked at 230 degrees for 15 minutes. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7wHEodsYnBhX65B5WwQtyqOP26-3f3hbem8FJR7z-UxJBRwEI4ZgByr_73n_p6vH0ubrnUQX6nF9vfsJe7Sw5PNV5TmhsRjdO_-4AQmR1dEavfaBsA-kohzTqJtBxNgL1zCWtiVEwIw/s1600/100_1962.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="245" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7wHEodsYnBhX65B5WwQtyqOP26-3f3hbem8FJR7z-UxJBRwEI4ZgByr_73n_p6vH0ubrnUQX6nF9vfsJe7Sw5PNV5TmhsRjdO_-4AQmR1dEavfaBsA-kohzTqJtBxNgL1zCWtiVEwIw/s320/100_1962.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
I printed the sentiment from the computer and used my markers to color the word COLOR. The hearts were simply cut using my Cricut.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkxDVtoAqIMYuQ1KeI7M7y3R2EHhkCxg0Gd5o1_tjyIvqaw_0x6nj1praGfYHTDsglRmQ5FdOw1irBe1xssDV_JvnwG3pWnKrtwJ3hdBOZucet0B8kjbkya66ybJNsQQgA2oiKaVUbdA/s1600/100_1963.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkxDVtoAqIMYuQ1KeI7M7y3R2EHhkCxg0Gd5o1_tjyIvqaw_0x6nj1praGfYHTDsglRmQ5FdOw1irBe1xssDV_JvnwG3pWnKrtwJ3hdBOZucet0B8kjbkya66ybJNsQQgA2oiKaVUbdA/s320/100_1963.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since the Valentine included a crayon I thought it only fitting to provide a picture to color. I googled valentine coloring pages and Fisher picked out the images. My favorite is the dinosaur.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This second project uses Lettering Delights Animals Boxes and Bags. I love the convenience of LD and MTC. I simply purchased the files and downloaded them. Within minutes I was cutting this adorable little alligator bag. I put some Hershey chocolate kisses inside the bag and place in Fisher's lunch box this morning as a little surprise.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Two weeks ago I transitioned into a new position at work. I have been teaching high school math for about 14 years. I was offered a position as a high school math coach and after much thought decided to make the change. I now provide staff development and assistance to high school math teachers in my county. Today was my first day going back to the school that two weeks ago I was teaching at. I made these little gifts for the teachers there.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I found these little blocks of Belgian chocolate on sale at the local discount grocery store. I used DCWV Sweet stack for the cupcake paper which I wrapped the bar. The Lacy Circle from Spellbinders Nestabilities has quickly become one of my favorites. The stamp is a Studio G from the $1 bin at Michaels.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
At the end of last night I still wanted to make something for Fisher's teachers and the ladies in the front office. This is another file from Lettering Delights called Conversation Hearts. Inside the small boxes are some Hershey's chocolate kisses.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHsiZNCXpA3J_dNFu1qrD872RAntEoMzy0HAtgzmVZ9vMpJDZPBz8doa_7V7CI0LXaghC5Iin5s6-pxKd00XhQqS-QJMg_uxXx77aJSeYVcDGdcYCE30Wyxflsq24izvnuI_Ppj5b6Vg/s1600/100_1969.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHsiZNCXpA3J_dNFu1qrD872RAntEoMzy0HAtgzmVZ9vMpJDZPBz8doa_7V7CI0LXaghC5Iin5s6-pxKd00XhQqS-QJMg_uxXx77aJSeYVcDGdcYCE30Wyxflsq24izvnuI_Ppj5b6Vg/s320/100_1969.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Well, that's it. Actually that's all the ones I have pictures of. I also made a card for my DH, a card for my mom, and a box to hold some candy favors for Fisher.<br />
<br />
Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!<br />

About 14 years ago a small rubber stamp store opened up not far from the school I was teaching at and some friends and I went to check it out. We signed up for a class and from there I was hooked. This hobby had a simple beginning: a shoe box with some ink and stamps, a file folder with paper, and the kitchen table. In Corinthians 9:7 we are instructed to "give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." I found joy in giving cards to others. My hobby has greatly expanded over the years to encompass an entire corner of my livingroom.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHlSGJr8VqUpPAAyqB8PmjML5uS8AAgINv87ZhBqqFQXYEyhGWMik2W4CWeu3DmjP3oOLYQwTRMRvu0ZQNE0TwWria4nPiOXJvzOCPYs0OgOpc3d6OVTSekhzUy2-rWEm1VOSwIM0RCQ/s1600/100_1958.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHlSGJr8VqUpPAAyqB8PmjML5uS8AAgINv87ZhBqqFQXYEyhGWMik2W4CWeu3DmjP3oOLYQwTRMRvu0ZQNE0TwWria4nPiOXJvzOCPYs0OgOpc3d6OVTSekhzUy2-rWEm1VOSwIM0RCQ/s320/100_1958.JPG" width="284" /></a></div>
Although I now scrapbook and make other crafty gifts I consider myself a cardmaker. I stamped this little girl. Doesn't she look like a great friend? Ready to listen and talk all night? I embossed her with clear embossing powder and then colored her with Bic Mark-It markers. I did purchase a copic blending pen which has made a difference. I still continue to work on coloring with the markers. The phrase is from My Pink Stamper. Here is a closer picture of the little girl. I just really like this stamp.<br />

Friends of ours that moved away a few years ago were having a party for their little girl who is the same age as my son. A couple in my church just adopted a 7 year old boy and they had a birthday party for him. Unfortunately, they were scheduled for the same time so we had to chose. We decided to go with the one we committed to first and so went to the girl's party. We also knew we would be seeing the little boy today. Anyway, I have written all of that to be able to share two birthday cards today.<br />
For the little girl I used a stamp set from Delta called <em>A Kid for Every Season</em>. I also used my nestabilities to create the medallion and layers. I embossed some flowers with my cuttlebug and used my I-rock gem setter to put the bling on the bottom. I have been playing with coloring with the Bic Mark-It markers (being unable to afford the Copics). I really like how bold the markers are compared to my usual coloring medium colored pencils.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg5OvdE6J7eNtB89IEZn6P_GRQOM5oilZLgytGmgQKfv44xvbeYWaBa7QmAA8WVckFI4cT6Mq_yHNWfFAqGP8hFSjO6VxXdYwkV0MTylKq_1V3tZV3KSoU-wtqyFKwdxBHkgvWQtSOOQ/s1600/100_1950.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="247" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg5OvdE6J7eNtB89IEZn6P_GRQOM5oilZLgytGmgQKfv44xvbeYWaBa7QmAA8WVckFI4cT6Mq_yHNWfFAqGP8hFSjO6VxXdYwkV0MTylKq_1V3tZV3KSoU-wtqyFKwdxBHkgvWQtSOOQ/s320/100_1950.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I have seen numerous versions of this rocket card however didn't have a cut file for it. I googled for a rocket image and this is what I found. I did a pixel trace in MTC and within a few minutes I was ready to cut. My son really likes it so I think the little boy will too.<br />

I am not brave enough to try a video but I did keep a picture portfolio of the various stages of this project. I decided to make some mini calendars. I found a similar tutorial on Mary Hasting's blog <a href="http://verymerryvintagestyle.blogspot.com/2010/12/paper-crafting-free-mini-calendar.html">Very Merry Vintage Style</a>. The one she did was for 2011 but she has updated her free printable for the 2012 calendar. (Thank you Mary for your generosity and inspiration.)<br />
<br />
The first picture I would like to share is the finished project. This is one out of ten. Each ended up slightly different (colors and flowers) but they all have the same layout.<br />
<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSanwl7lKQ6iDAjuTjCm04CX764zmz6XSlPa2E2VO1ze31_8SrAn0WlNEQCbg_CoR_g_K6RmrsK5cHfHS2ilmaACp5QRydMIv4RoKAIw50cGWKWIvLqPlZjMelhpaAwj-JR9dmnLlOyQ/s1600/100_1944.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSanwl7lKQ6iDAjuTjCm04CX764zmz6XSlPa2E2VO1ze31_8SrAn0WlNEQCbg_CoR_g_K6RmrsK5cHfHS2ilmaACp5QRydMIv4RoKAIw50cGWKWIvLqPlZjMelhpaAwj-JR9dmnLlOyQ/s320/100_1944.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started this project soon after Christmas and thus there were plenty of cardboard boxes laying around ready to be recycled/repurposed. The best ones were from my son's toys. I used my new Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 8 (a Christmas gift from my DH) to cut the cardboard and the matching paper.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDU5hTAphGNEtAaClLDEBj7buV9FeE-60SfPLgMHTxIOKzjUEUH_KpEb-osam71Ryao1p0sXTms6TlR0v_xS61y528DyYnqij7ASCWKY-x3RIejR0eFP_LA_kJAXuEDC71JaTN6t1qVw/s1600/100_1927.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="171" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDU5hTAphGNEtAaClLDEBj7buV9FeE-60SfPLgMHTxIOKzjUEUH_KpEb-osam71Ryao1p0sXTms6TlR0v_xS61y528DyYnqij7ASCWKY-x3RIejR0eFP_LA_kJAXuEDC71JaTN6t1qVw/s320/100_1927.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I used Elmer's glue and a sponge brush to cover the cardboard. Then I used a brayer to make sure I got edge to edge coverage and the paper was smooth.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhepb_k9vtXZM5YGdswcjngxRwocZejACOfHAVGVSwroc7OnOuOGHo7XKLRJn3i1OENZHdBOzn9fkKaOp0vMWxzsOp3D6iqOOB03-ZY0SLykIEJV6fhr_wik-HgbVWO8FGK8pqdKLUV2w/s1600/100_1930.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhepb_k9vtXZM5YGdswcjngxRwocZejACOfHAVGVSwroc7OnOuOGHo7XKLRJn3i1OENZHdBOzn9fkKaOp0vMWxzsOp3D6iqOOB03-ZY0SLykIEJV6fhr_wik-HgbVWO8FGK8pqdKLUV2w/s200/100_1930.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The free printable for the calendars required me to cut all of the months out and then I needed a way to put them together. The tutorial on Mary's site showed how to use rubber cement. I researched a variety of ways and there is a medium out there that is made for this purpose. I chose to try the rubber cement because it was easily accessible. (I don't often have enough patience to wait for things to be delivered.) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since I was making ten of these I used two rulers to line several calendar sets up at a time and binder clips to keep them together tight. The ends of the binder clips made it easy to hold the calendars as they dried. I put several layers just to be safe.</div>
<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5EOaRBGaquXeINAILQKIEf7Wzpe0-DJOOkaT4Ovy0d1fm52cOjo-p8gGH0GvMzRHtB3WR9-wiChiprFk0mEuSF3VoJJvInl7pA7mtDAY2JOua2QJ6_zisYAGddSNLx6V1SG80zno4qg/s1600/100_1938.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="172" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5EOaRBGaquXeINAILQKIEf7Wzpe0-DJOOkaT4Ovy0d1fm52cOjo-p8gGH0GvMzRHtB3WR9-wiChiprFk0mEuSF3VoJJvInl7pA7mtDAY2JOua2QJ6_zisYAGddSNLx6V1SG80zno4qg/s320/100_1938.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
You may be able to see in this picture the slight gloss on the top. Hopefully it will allow for easy removal of each month (one month at a time).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbvfvbAAdQrHP7a92T2eHI8lQbPa5BADL7npMmJ9kT0W6Hb8n4tDoMS7MrLCmwGoMgV7_umHZldUPtV3Zvq1XovvGOcNtUbwC-18JIah3PNP_M7-0b_DkR5Lwu7GDRO0U3pRo6WTo3LA/s1600/100_1943.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbvfvbAAdQrHP7a92T2eHI8lQbPa5BADL7npMmJ9kT0W6Hb8n4tDoMS7MrLCmwGoMgV7_umHZldUPtV3Zvq1XovvGOcNtUbwC-18JIah3PNP_M7-0b_DkR5Lwu7GDRO0U3pRo6WTo3LA/s320/100_1943.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
All that remained was to put the calendar together. I used a Hero Arts stamp from the set Butterflies and Dragonflies for the butterfly. I stamped each in an Artprint Brown from Memories and colored with my colored pencils. The flowers are from my stash and I used pearls from Queen & Co. for their centers. The ribbon is American Crafts. The sentiment is from a Cloud 9 Design set called Simple Thought - Travel (another Christmas gift).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirKgN2MzLlUV8p9OAIswJa6n_Sb7pqx8CZeJaNoOJZRfVzEjVbi4hkT5L-GfiEvQQv_YJbrm8_vRG_loNt_0__9mrO4wOzLDuxVQTqP6_rLK0JxF5jn3YBTehO3LpT40LJlITfCQXoZA/s1600/100_1946.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="298" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirKgN2MzLlUV8p9OAIswJa6n_Sb7pqx8CZeJaNoOJZRfVzEjVbi4hkT5L-GfiEvQQv_YJbrm8_vRG_loNt_0__9mrO4wOzLDuxVQTqP6_rLK0JxF5jn3YBTehO3LpT40LJlITfCQXoZA/s320/100_1946.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I intend to give these to my colleagues at work. Since there are 4 males I thought I should design one more to their liking. I chose a stamp from Heartfelt Impressions. I played around with putting some buttons but couldn't get it right. I think I like the simplicity of the layout.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

While working on this project two challenges were posted. I don't often participate in challenges but follow them regularly. I love to see what others do. This project fits the challenge for <a href="http://www.mypinkstamper.com/2012/01/my-pinkalicious-blog-hop-challenge.html">My Pink Stamper</a> to make something for someone to start the new year. The second challenge is from <a href="http://stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com/">Stampin' Sisters in Christ</a>. The challenge is to use something new. In this project I used several new items I got for Christmas.<br />
<br />
This has been a long post and if you are still here, thank you. I hope you have enjoyed this project. I thought I appreciated other's blog that posted the how-to-tutorials. Now I have a deeper appreciation.<br />
Have a blessed day!<br />

His teachers are awesome and the ladies in the office are wonderful. I always try to send a little something on the holidays to let them know that I appreciate all they do for my son and for the other students.</span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<span style="font-family: inherit;">For Christmas, my DH (who works at the school) wanted to show his appreciation for the ladies in the cafeteria. He bought these yummy Willy Wonka chocolate bars. I was once again inspired by a pin that wrapped popcorn packets and used a glove for the hat.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I used some green flannel that was easy to wrap around the bar and cinch at the top with small rubber bands. I used small puches from SU to make the smile and the buttons. I cut the nose from.... hmmmm.... I know it's a Cricut cart with all the snowmen but I can't remember the name. A simple snowflake stamp from the $1 bin was used on the bottom. Finally the google eyes.</span></div>

<br />I love the way they turned out and the ladies enjoyed them also. Thanks for dropping by. I hope to have another project soon to share with you. I have been working on mini calendars.<br />
